Workload / Train

Training capacity
for the run that matters.

From a single multi-GPU node to a larger distributed deployment, the right training environment is defined by the model, data pipeline, interconnect, and time-to-result.

Scope a training deployment
01 / The constraint

Training is a system
problem, not a GPU count.

A larger GPU count does not automatically shorten a run. The model architecture, sequence length, batch strategy, data loading, interconnect, and checkpoint cadence all shape the result.

We start with the workload profile and work outward to the node design. That means the conversation may include GPU memory, fabric, CPU-to-GPU balance, local storage, dataset movement, and the operational plan for a long-running job.

02 / Scope inputs

What we need
to understand.

You do not need a perfect specification to start. A clear description of the model and the target outcome is enough to begin the capacity conversation.

01

Model and method

Architecture, parameter count, sequence length, pre-training or fine-tuning, and the target quality bar.

02

GPU and node shape

Preferred GPU family, memory requirement, number of GPUs, and whether the run needs multi-node scaling.

03

Data and storage

Dataset size, read pattern, checkpoint frequency, persistence, and how data reaches the compute environment.

04

Timeline and output

Target start date, expected duration, deliverable, and the point at which the deployment needs to scale.

03 / Starting points

Reference GPU profiles.

These are starting points for the conversation. The final configuration is confirmed against the workload, quantity, and deployment window.
